The Education Assessment and Rating Foundation has announced the launch of first of its kind single entrance exam for many universities as UNI-GAUGE PGTech for students seeking admission in post graduate courses in technology and engineering.

"This exam will play a vital need in the Indian higher education system by helping the student community to apply individually in many universities. It mutually benefits both the institutions as well as students who have long felt the need of an assessment platform of international standard," said BN Subramanya, CEO, ERA Foundation.

The qualifying examination for admission is bachelor or equivalent recognised by the state or central government. The exam will be conducted in about 16 major cities and towns and the last date for submitting online is 22 June and the exam will be conducted on 4 July. Entrance fee is Rs 1,500 and can pay both online and offline. Online payment through net banking/ debit card/ credit card can be made on or before 22 June and offline through Axis bank challan payment can be done till 19 June.
